Funny ducks
Saw the ducks do something funnt the other evening and wanted to share it here.
Not sure if I posted this already, but I had picked up an old used doll house at an auction with the intent of turning it into a place for the hens to lay eggs. Well I had gotten it finished and put it in the coop, with just a couple of preassure treated 4x4's under it to keep it of the ground and make it last longer, Well on the 2 upper "Floors" I put a perch for the hens to hop into before they went inside to lay, and the bottom was just left as was so they could walk inside.
Well I stuffed them full of straw for nesting material and then I put everyone inside the chicken wire part of the coup to keep em safe at night.
Well the large male duck walked over to the doll house and stuck his head inside one of the holes and made a funny sounds that made it seem like he was saying "nope, nope, nope" and hed move a piece of straw here and there. Then hed step back and one of the females would look inside, then shake her head, so he would do it all over, makeing the same sounds.
The funny part was when the female I guess accepted it she squeelead and then all 21 ducks ran around in circles inside the coop, as if dancing.
Was so funny I almost rolled over laughing at them.
Seems like its starting to turn off cold now, I was a few flakes of snow last night when I was working outside, so winter isnt too far off now.
I took a few minutes today while I was moveing stuff around and fired up the chain saw and cut up a fallen branch I had set aside.
So at least I know it works, and I can start cuting more up during my breaks from work.
