I like subtext. It's fun! I like ambiguous situations, which lend themselves to multiple readings. I like to think my writing works without me telling people *how* to read it, and if people sometimes get less from my writing than I hoped, sometimes they get more than I intended, and that rocks pretty hard ( Read more... )

In DC fandom, I'm totally cool with writers not labeling pairings and genres. In other fandoms I'm not so cool with it, because in other fandoms there are characters I'm completely uninterested in, and often in other fandoms there's so much crap that you have to limit your crap to crap with pairings you enjoy.

So I say, go for it.

The only problem with that is that if I'm looking for a story of yours whose title I can't remember, it's easier to find if I can go by the pairing or characters. I know that if I'm looking for a story by Te I usually have to read about six before I find the one I'm looking for. Well, not that I really mind. But if for some reason I needed to find some R-rated-Dick/Tim-involving-a-couch and had only five minutes to do it, there'd be problems.

Well, actually, my fic is tagged by characters too, for the most part. Does that help at all?

For the above mentioned involving-a-couch situation.

Dude, finding that thing was like mini-christmas for me. I am always happy to share the antidote to "Okay, so 'So Pure, So Rare' is summarized as 'All night and all day.' and that means who, exactly?"

Dude, another person who says 'dude'! *in love*

That aside, I am OVERJOYED at knowing of this page's existence. Not that I'm really cut up about having to read four bajillion Te-stories in order to find the one I want, but, you know, emergencies. What if I need to mainline? ONE-STOP SHOPPING, yo.

Dude, I love 'dude'! It is so useful in a wide variety of language capacities.

It's a very good page. Because some days, you need the warm fuzzies that come with Tim/Kon and some days you desperately need the pain of really, really messed up Bruce/Dick. And you totally cannot mix and match in those circumstances -- because a 'Come Down Breathless' mood will be totally destroyed, nay, annihilated by 'Consequent'. And that would be a shame. Though a 'Consequent' day might go better with a little 'CDB'. It's entirely possible.

Hi Betty, please ignore the raging thread-jacking going on over here. As far as the tagging sitch goes, if you post it, I will read it. I'm easy like that. I am aware this doesn't quite jive with the above, but new fic is new and will, therefore, be read regardless of mood, because yay newness!

It so is. 'Dude' is underrated.

There is however a problem with going by pairing that occurs when you're in a 'Somebody's Fetish' sort of mood but you click the Tim/Kon link and end up reading the Black Sky series. Granted, it all turns out okay for everyone, but the beginning's sure a kick in the pants if you were looking for something light.

Of course, if you're looking for something light you should probably find somewhere that's less of a minefield than Te's site, or you may end up sobbing for three hours over 'As you and I go down' (true story!).

Anyway, seconding the apology to Betty for all the pollution. As well as the comment that 'shiny&new' overrides mood, because it does.

Also: chevauchee, do you mind if I friend you?

Heh, another thing I like about the pairing page is it saves me from her Bruce/Jason on days when I cannot handle the pain. In other words, I'm right there with you on the 'As you and I go down' issue. *snerk*

Feel free to friend, but first the warnings -- I post infrequently, I'm bad at commenting on my flist because I'm bad at keeping up on it, there's a risk you will learn more than you ever wanted to know about workers' compensation. I feel bad if I don't warn people about the last, especially. But dammit, it will never stop amusing me that people can drink bad ice tea and think they will get paid for time off work.
