Help me out, f-list! I am on a quest to prove that all fic clichés already exist in DCU canon. So.

With Maelithl:

Random Centaurification
Uh, that weird Claremont Superman thing, and the time Roy became a centaur (courtesy Livia and Petra)

Wing fic
Supergirl! Thank you, Peter David!

Sex Pollen
We can consider Ivy our strongest contender, here.

Don't forget the one where Guy turns into a Hot Chick!

There's probably some Inconvenient Telepathic Bond stuff with J'onn and (insert JLA member here). Like that time he got really pissed at Babs, only he was wrong, but hey, way to ramp up the intercharacter tensions!

(Umm. I may have outed myself for some Inappropriate Character Pairing there.)

Wasn't there a storyline in YJ where they were turned into cute animals, or did they just turn into anime versions of self? Plastic Man turns into cute animals...

Handcuffed feels like it should be way easier than it is.

Which one does Guy turn into a hot chick in?! I'll put that in.

I... I know I've read J'onn/Babs. (But I don't think it was good.)

I... know they turned into chibi selves. Or... something. Actually, it wasn't clear what happened there, at all.

I can't remember the issue number, but it's in GG: W. It was up on S_D ages ago, but I've never been able to find the issues in question.

Gender swap
That upcoming Superman/Batman you showed me the cover for? Or you've got a choice of Legion stories.

Turned into cute animals!
Once Hal turned his sidekick into a bird?

Or you've got a choice of Legion stories. Oh? Which? I'd rather not put even cover spoilers outside a cut.

Once Hal turned his sidekick into a bird? On... purpose? By accident? Why!?

Pre-Crisis, Kinetix was a Legionnaire and a woman who fell in love with Element Lad (I think). She turned out to be a man who had taken some kind of medication/drug not widely available that turned him/her into a woman, and when s/he stopped taking the drug, s/he turned back into a man.

Element Lad still loved him/her, though! Good times, pre-Crisis. Good times.

The body swap was the Foreign Bodies trade, one of my favorite bits of JLA silliness ever. :)

Oh wow! I've been avoiding Batman Strikes because I have... issues with Bruce's chin. (I'm really that shallow. Yes.) But I love Selina's costume there! Very When in Rome.

I'll note that. It's a data point!

Well, actually, this is an episode of the The Batman 'toon. Batman Strikes is the associated comic book, in which Catwoman punched Batman in the jaw for trying to handcuff her. And then I was about to argue about When in Rome but I see what you mean. Tim Sale does give her big goofy ears (in proportion for a cat) and her neck gaiter and pink hands/feet serve as fashion statements.

Are we counting the toons? Because I know there's a Toon Titans episode where they turn into animals (except Beast Boy, who I believe turns into inanimate objects). Also in the B:GK episode "Chemistry", Poison Ivy has plant people that secrete a pheremone that makes people fall for them (although *supposedly* only initially, and the rest just relies on their stunning personality, which I don't *quite* buy.) Although possibly that was more... attraction-and-marriage pollen, rather than- oh, ew, and now I'm wondering whether Bruce (or...any of the others, I guess) had sex with the plant people.

Thad! Thank you.

I admit, plant people with stunning personalities doesn't really seem likely... Um, okay, I'm gonna stop thinking about that now.
