Re: Workplace Appropriate Language

Department heads and supervisors are once again reminded that it is now official policy to discourage denigrative language directed at our Human allies.

Speech which makes reference to Human
- Corporeality
- Leakage,
- Reproductive facility,
- Orifice noises,
- Boundedness in space-time,
- Aesthetic offensiveness,
- Ecological relations,
or any reference to the Hrothmek incident, is officially discouraged.

While acknowledging that speech patterns have become ingrained, it is incumbent upon department heads to lead by example; it is no longer appropriate to make reference to 'the fleshy ones.' Our Human allies find reference to their corporeality understandably hurtful. Please gently reprimand subordinates who persist in such usage; for employees who fail to amend their language, Human Relations offers an eight cycle intensive course, "New Ways Of Speaking: What Do They Want Us to Call Them?" This course is also available for management staff who wish to better understand current language policy. We also bring to your attention our publication, "Is It a Slur?," an easily searchable booklet listing over AE3 examples of acceptable and unacceptable terms; this booklet is a handy reference which can ease the confusion of the transitional period.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
