6pm ish Saturday 11th March / Sunday 12th March '06 - 8.30 pm ish

Hi again peeps . .

Well, we went to the Lebanese restaurant . . Sheiks . . the worst restaurant in Sheffield . . not that I have been to any others but the food we had there left an awful lot to be desired, and needless to say I don't think any one in our party will be returning there in a hurry!!

After we all left the restaurant we took a tram to the Hillsborough Hotel, which I enjoyed thoroughly, there were a couple of rescued Lurcher dogs, a brown bitch called Heidi, who did not like men very much (clever girl - but she had been mis-treated by a man) and a very large black Lurcher dog who's name I never heard.

After a couple of drinks in the Hillsborough we walked to the Gardeners Rest Public House, and had one in there . . we then walked (through where there were some "Ladies - of - the - night" .. who were plying their trade) to the Fat Cat Public House, which surprisingly enough had a "Fat Cat" . . it in turn vanished like the Cheshire cat in Alice . . After two or three drinks in there we walked a short distance to the main road where we got a taxi back to Andrew’s at 12.30 am. After using Andrew’s computer to save the details of the evening, I went to bed at 1.30am.

On Sunday it snowed in Sheffield so much I though I might be there for some time, and as Andrew had a driving lesson at 11am I wondered if it might be cancelled but he was picked up in time for it . . and after he had done it the snowing eased a little so he and I went to the small Somerfield supermarket near his house to get some bits for the Sunday dinner he was cooking . . A full Roast Beef Dinner . . again cooked to perfection !!

I was expecting to get the 3.08pm train home but after the dinner I was so stuffed we decided it might be better if I waited for the next train so as not to travel on a full stomach, in the end I caught the 5.08 pm train which was supposed to go right through to Grimsby and arrive in Town station at 18.55 . . Unfortunately, for some reason when it arrived in Doncaster station they announced that the train was going back to Sheffield and all passengers should dis-embark and go to the busses at the front of the station . . A fine suggestion . . except that there were no blessed bus’s there!!

The bus’s arrived after an hour of waiting, on the freezing Doncaster Station car park *where they did not even supply so much as a cuppa* . . we all piled on to them and were driven to Scunthorpe, and the other stations on the route, arriving here in Grimsby Town station car park at approx 8.10pm.

In all there were 4 Coopers Coaches in a line which I suppose were go to go back to Doncaster together . . and as there were upwards of 100 people waiting for taxis I decided to walk home, arriving in the house at 8.30pm . . What a Journey!!!!
