Second Internet Post (Devotional Entry)

Feb 09, 2007 06:32

To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

Is it sacrilegious to be listening to a secular music album while I post an online devotional? Don't strike me down LORD ALMIGHTY. I'm listening to Norah Jones' album "Not Too Late". The customer reviews weren't too great. It seems too late to take it out of the computer now because I already started ( Read more... )

Hey Joshua,

Sorry, but I don't know the answer to why you can't reply directly from your gmail account. I can't do that from my hotmail account either. I think you can reply directly from some email providers, but I don't know which ones. I am able to use the link that says "reply at the webpage" to go back to livejournal and reply there. I probably should have reply to this on my journal, but I decided to put it on yours.

Well, what would you like to know about me? Let's see...name, rank, and social huh. I have some info on my profile or user info page. My name is Keith Eckert and I'm a lowly private in the Lord's army. I work at a Christian school in the Detroit area where I teach Pre-Algebra, Precalculus, and one Bible class. I've been married for 31 1/2 year to a wonderful North Carolina girl, and we have 2 daughters. The younger is still in college and the older is married and teaches 2nd grade in the area. She is expecting a girl in late June, our 1st grandchild! My "social" is pretty dull, so I won't go into that! :) I enjoy reading, riding my bike when it's warmer, doing things on-line, and watching high school sports in the area when I can. I am involved in my church...if you'd like to listen to the Sunday sermon on-line I have a link on my user info page.

Yeah, you usually get quite a few replies if you post something on 50bookchallenge because it has over 6000 members and probably another 3000 that watch it and comment on entries made there. It is interesting to check it every once in a while to see what books (mostly junk) people are reading, but I decided not to join because I don't think I will read that many books in a year. I've found that some of the smaller communities are better for me...the members tend to give more information on the books they read instead of just a list of them. You might check out 0bsessed_reader, book_worm or books if you like'd something like that.

I guess I've rambled on long enough! Give me a yell when you get a chance. You're in my prayers.

In Him,
Keith

Hello Keith AKA m27r1e83,

Your last message was right on. You might have a boring lifestyle (from the world's view), but it sounds to me like you have God's blessings. I'm not married at this stage of my life. I can appreciate my singleness and do. I use it to honor and glorify God.

I hope and pray that your marriage and your family continues to be blessed. Tell me more about your two children.

Please pray for God's grace to be with us on this deployment. The soldiers in my company have been involved in some dangerous missions lately. My hope and prayer is that the Lord will use His angels to keep them safe, use me to gather people in the Kingdom to pray, and use others to pray for peace in this land. Quite a task huh?

Didn't realize the 50bookchallenge group is so big. Anyways Keith, that's all I have to say for now. TTYL!

in Christ,

Hi Joshua,

I must say that the Lord has definitely had His hand of blessing on me and my family. I give thanks daily for His love, grace, and mercy.

A huge part of that blessing has been my family. My younger daughter, Amber, is a junior at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and is majoring in Earth Science. When she graduates she wants to work in the field of environmental testing. My older daughter, Crystal, graduated from the same university 4 years ago with a degree in Elementary Education. She was hired right out of college by the school she did her student teaching at. She got married to her high school sweetheart the summer after she graduated from college and they are expecting their first child this June. My wife, Cathy, is my best friend and a wonderful Christian woman. She was laid off of her job last week, so she is seeking the Lord's direction in that. Please include her in your prayers when you think about it.

Well, I'd better go. These papers I need to grade aren't going to grade themselves!

Take care and Lord bless,
Keith
