Much Neede Update.
Hey all! I think it's about time I updated this little place with all that's been going on. I've been horrible when it comes to LJ... but that's life I guess. I'll try and be better. Promise. :)
So, things that have been going on with me:
1. I moved! My girlfriend came and got me and brought me home with her so now I'm half way across the country with my love and our three dogs. Everything has been great so far. It's still a little scary since I'll be going to a new school and I don't know anyone out here except her family. But I'm sure once I'm going to school I'll meet some people and start a little network out here. It's all very exciting!
2. I'm looking for a job. Which is what I should be doing right now instead of updating but whatever. I've sent out some online apps but since I've never had anything come out of that I'm sure I'm going to have to do it the old fashion way and go around collecting applications to turn back in. I really need something. I'm hoping something comes my way. Unfortunately, it's really hard to find a job in our current economy without any formal work experience. Most places don't seem to care that I've spent three years in college earning a 3.83. That obviously doesn't qualify me over obnoxious sixteen year olds with huge attitudes and Crackberry addictions. *eye roll* Anyway, I'm sure something will come my way. *Crosses fingers*
3. I'm being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Seriously, it's horrendous out here! I stopped counting when I a) reached 30 and b) could no longer keep track of which were old and which were new. I have five in a row across the back of my right calf. I can't go outside without getting a new one! If I'm not a walking case of west nile yet, it's a miracle!
4. I had a going away/birthday party a few days before I moved and there were a few people I was really disappointed didn't come. Three of my friends who were all "Are you having a going away party? We want to come!!" couldn't manage to come even though they all said they were going to try and be there or they were probably going to come. Stupid. But what really bothered me was that neither my brother came nor one of my best friends who I've considered my little sister for almost our whole lives. My brother not coming is pretty typical. And I'm kind of mixed about it anyway because I'm not exactly my brother's biggest fan. But he called my mom the day before to make sure he knew what time and everything and then he just didn't show. That kind of hurts. He did the same thing for my graduation and his reason was that he was "too tired" to drive the 45 minutes. But my friend? *That* one really made me mad. I mean, no call, no anything. She just didn't show. And I even arranged for her to be able to come early because she had to leave for work an hour into the party. And I saw her three days before and we talked about her coming and I was all "See you Tuesday?" And she was all "Yeah." And then nothing. Stupid. Jerk. :/ But on the plus side, I got to see a lot of people I wanted to say goodbye to who mean a lot to me and who obviously care more about me than these other two hooligans.
5. Love and I are going on a cupcake cruise today! It's a sight seeing tour on Lake Michigan. You get four mini-cupcakes and a glass of champagne while hearing about all the sights around the lake! Super cool! We're very excited as we L.O.V.E. cupcakes! :)
Anyway, I hope ya'll are doing well. I've really missed talking with everyone! Let me know what you've all been up to! :) It's good to be back!
