I just dropped off my written notice to Gardencrest that I will not be renewing my lease on my current unit in May. Now I need to prepare my home one again to move to a new location. This one, though, should be short. I'll be moving to a smaller, one-bedroom apartment in the same complex. Actually, its not even all that much smaller -- the square footage is about the same. But the translocation must happen, so here's the plan, with requests and opportunities for all my dear friends.
First, a lot of my stuff, especially furniture, is going by-bye. This includes, but is not limited to:
If you are interested in any of these things, or have particularly been lusting after any of my other furniture, now would be a good time to speak up. I don't have the capability to easily transport either of the futons, so those would have to be pick-up only.
Also, my current move window is between 9 May and 22 May, so during that period I may be looking for people to help me move boxes to my new place, as well as some awkwardly large bookcases and TV stands that don't collapse as well as most of my stuff (although apparently
witticaster and
phoenix_rinna have observed at least one of them implement a self-collapsing feature I may have to look into.) If any of you want to earn a favor from me, hauling my books when I move is a great way to do it.
Also, I think I'm going to take this opportunity to take
purly's advice and redesign my bedroom to be hotel-roomy. Courtyard actually sells its bedding as a unit, and they do have some of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in, so I may end up modeling my new bedroom after a Courtyard room, if the geometry works out properly. Now to find a king-sized bedframe...
EDIT: Actual move-day is 15 May.
