So I got to Logan early today, since I wanted to avoid the worst of Boston's rush hour. I was in the Red Carpet Club when I heard the overhead announce that the flight to Chicago ahead of mine was going to be delayed because they had an equipment change to a 777, and needed to bring it to a new gate. I perked up. A widebody jet on a trip to a domestic destination? What silliness is this. I figured given the massive upgrade in aircraft size (the route is normally an A319), I could probably get a seat. And I was right! In fact, it looked like they took everybody from my flight, too, and put them on the 777, and away we went.
To further step out of my normal travel umbrella, I took the L into Chicago. Normally I'm supposed to take a cab (its faster on average), but since I wasn't pressed for time, I decided to go the mass transit route. I wish I could say it was an interesting ride, but it really wasn't. In all fairness, I do tend to prefer my travel options to be dull -- exciting rarely ends well.
So here I am, in the heart of Chicago, wondering why I can't connect to the hotel's internet but unlikely to do anything about as long as my MiFi still works properly.
