It's been rainy most of this week, and there's a chill in the air even when the sun's out. For Vancouver-homesickness, it's always seagulls that do it for me. I joke sometimes I'm one of JRR Tolkien's elves - I hear seagulls, and then I think of going west.

There are some seagull-like birds in London -- I suppose because of the Thames. They are too little, white and pretty.

That was beautiful, Bron. What a nice image of home. I too love the fall. I cannot stand summer heat. I get homesick for Reno sometimes in the fall. I miss the seasons. San Diego doesn't really have seasons. Time slips by in unnoticed chunks and I find myself thinking "where the heck did 10 years go? And, how is it summer again?" Time seems to just race by in a place without the means to mark change. I miss home.
