I have a found a city that is more pathetic in the snow than Vancouver is.
There is half a foot, and it's still gently coming down. ALL bus services are suspended. All except two underground lines are either suspended, part-suspended, or experiencing severe delays. I can only assume that the overground and Thameslink are likewise out. There is therefore no non-car way to get into central London. (And anyway, the Met is advising no non-essential car journeys.) So even if I had a class today, and even if college wasn't closed, I wouldn't be able to get in.*
Classes for tomorrow have already been re-scheduled until Wednesday on the grounds that the snow hasn't stopped.
Susannah seems to have had one of the wilder times of her life in driving home from Haringey, where her boyfriend Nye lives. She has decided, rather than going to work on a mural in a business near the heath, to paint some furniture at home. So we are working quietly and listening to music. Daisy has had two hot water bottles made for her and seems most content.
On the further up side, it's very pretty.
*It appears I was mistaken, and the overground was struggling through with severe delays and a part suspension, and Thameslink with a "special service." I shudder to think of the packed state of either of them, though!
