Night Mare Moon plushie

I got a Night Mare Moon plushie in the mail last week, so I figure I may as well write about her. The verdict? She's very nice, and I'm mostly happy with her.

The left foreleg (her left) being longer than the right is a feature in all the Funrise plush ponies as well. I suspect that someone decided that that made them look more elegant or dynamic. Mostly I find it makes them harder to stand up.

The loose neckpiece can be easily fixed with a stitch or fabric glue and a very small piece of velcro, just enough that the neckpiece only comes off when you want it to come off, and remains a removable part of NM's wardrobe. Not that removing that but not the helmet makes much sense.

You didn't state who the maker is?

A fan-made plush pony is likely to have imperfections as well. I have a Pony Plushes Fluttershy I bought at BronyCon 2012 and she's far from perfect. ^_^

Congrats on your most excellent Nightmare Moon!

It's actually one of her rear legs that's longer, not a foreleg. Forelegs I could understand, perhaps, but with the right rear leg being more firmly stuffed, all she is is a bit wobbly on her feet.

Well, given how gaunt Night Mare Moon is, we can always attribute that to her not eating enough. :P

Mmm, good point, I could do that.

I'm not sure who the maker is; her labels are all in Japanese. :P For all I know they're just called "12 Inches", like it sasy on the picture.

Yeah, you're right about imperfections on fan plushies, of course, though fan plushie makers won't be driven by the need to keep manufacturing costs down.

And thanks! I'm really quite happy with her.

Got a name for you! The plushes are made by a place in China called "Only Factory". I just picked up Cherries Jubilee and Big MacIntosh at a specialist card-game store and I have Applejack and winged Twilight from CANterlot last year. Their hang tags only have "Made in China" in English, which isn't too helpful.

Ah, very nice! Cherry Jubilee, eh? Now that's a pony you don't see too often in merch.

Speaking of Twily, Nici also has a princess version of her available. It may be limited edition - I don't see it in Nici's online store anymore -, but the local Toys'R'Us still got it, I think.

Ooh, very nice! I think I've talked to someone with one of these very plushies fairly recently (maybe at BUCK) but I can't remember for certain.

Cutie marks both sides? IIRC, the Mystery Minis are the only official ponies that have that right.

I've been told that they're on sale at cons. It would make sense to me - what better place to sell pony plushies?

Yeah, cutie marks on both sides, and I'm very glad she has those. Even my plastic pony Night Mare Moons only have one, and it bugs me every time I see it (which is admittedly not very often, since they're placed so that that side's facing away from me).
