Parts of the NHS are still down because of the ransomware attack launched last Friday.  I gather it was a worldwide attack and brought low many - all of whom should have known better and should have kept their security patches etc updated.  The fact that so many computers and systems were 'locked up' just goes to show ( Read more... )

There now, scientific studies have again shown that exercise is good for us, increasing blood flow to the body and brain.  Apparently doing 150 minutes a week cuts the chances of depression and dementia by a third, and boosts mental health at any age.  This is something we have to consider now we are 60 ( Read more... )

Things in space - the  Perseid meteor shower has begun.  Ah, memories of holidays on the Isle of Wight.  We'd often caravan and the night sky above whichever caravan site was usually darker than we'd get at home, what with all the streetlights etc.  So even though the children were quite young, we'd sit out somewhere dark and watch the 'shooting ( Read more... )
