Wet, Organised, Socks*
Aujour d'hui il pleut. Encore.
Which is probably a Good Thing after all the hot weather we had in August. The green is returning to Britain!
Rain was forecast for Saturday afternoon, so we made sure we got out early and ventured across the railway to the industrial estate. Where we picked out a new mattress. Our bed has a solid base. The mattress, some (counts up, good grief!) fifteen years old, isn't as comfortable as it once was. So we're getting a new one. Wednesday - delivery 'between 7am and 6pm'. I can see myself being up early Wednesday, just in case!
At some stage on Tuesday I shall remove all the pictures between the front door and the bedroom and generally try to make the route as clear as possible for the delivery people. Unfortunately they don't remove the old mattress, so that'll be another thing to organise. If I'm really organised they can also take some other stuff we have that really could do with shifting (to the local Civic Amenity Site - aka the local Tip.) Organised, that's me!
As part of being organised I tried to order some more of the yarn I knit H's socks. My main supplier says she's no longer stocking it. From a quick Google, it would seem that it may no longer be being made. Darn! And I have been, that's how I know H could do with some new socks.
Fortunately Google turned up a few alternatives. So I now have on order some Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton Stretch Malibu in colour 6307 from LoveKnitting.com, who mention next day delivery. w00t! Cos I've finished a pair of socks for Mum, and currently only have one other pair on the go. Mind you, I'm still on the first sock of that pair. I could cast on for a pair for BiL, but need a measurement - which he's not giving. Yet. *Nudge*
So tomorrow, maybe, I can cast on for more socks for H. I suppose the last batch I knitted him was around three or so years ago. I know I've reinforced, then darned the heels a couple of times. Last week I knit reinforced heels over the original heels. When that happens it's time to start on new socks. Here's hoping the new cotton mix yarn is a good tough one.
Then H can be comfortable day and night!
