Knit Rules

Things you really shouldn't say to a knitter, or a crocheter.

And that's even if you only charge 'basic rate' as payment, when you have a good ten years or more knitting experience.

Mind you, some people have found crochet (and knitting) to be a useful way of generating income for themselves eg: Little Pine Tree in Cape Town, South Africa.  Particularly if you make 'niche' goods, like the amigurami produced by the ladies at Little Pine Tree and sell them online, rather than locally where your neighbours are as poor as you are and don't want crocheted or knitted toys.

Even 'plain vanilla' socks take 25-30 hours, even for size 4s.

Actually I tried to teach D to knit, she asked me to.  It was not a success.  Don't remember S ever asking but he's a bit of a domestic god in other areas - not that I taught him much of that either.

I knit for relaxation, for enjoyment, as well as for the final product, which is unique, should fit exactly and is a great way of showing love.  Then again, there are few TV programmes which cannot be improved with the addition of some knitting.  It's amazing how quickly something will grow during a film.

I'm off to knit some more.  Y'all have a good day now!
