I saw something and thought, "I'll blog about that.  But first I'll check with my Friends' Ramblings, and for any comments."  The next thought was, "What was I going to blog about?"  Memory?  Wossat?
Having darned one set of socks H informed me that he'd put another pair in the wash.  This time he was telling me when the holes were new-formed and thus smaller.  I can see another darning session coming on next week some time.  I've finished knitting one of the fifth pair of socks, now on the leg of the second.  Then, maybe, I'll post something about dye lots.  We'll see.
Just think, this week a lot of 18-19 year olds will be setting off to university, not to mention incurring the dreaded Student Debt.  It's years since we dropped S off, at Bath - our Alma Mater.  The main thing we noticed was how much the trees had grown in the intervening years.  They were tall saplings in our day.  Twenty or so years later they were proper trees.  That was over ten years ago.  Where does the time go?  Cue "Sunrise, sunset"!
We, H & I, both think that University is a Good Thing.  Not sure about the debt but . . .  The main thing is to Go Away to Uni.  It's the social thing, learning how to look after yourself, how to get on within a disparate group of people - like those in your block of residence.  How to find accommodation - very few universities will house you for the whole of your course.  How to manage on a budget.  How to cope with the freedom of being 'adult' and very few responsibilities.  The actual academic bit, while good, can come second.  It's about learning how to live for yourself.  I know there was a fashion a few years back to attend university in your home city, or near enough to home to continue living there while studying.  While not that much in favour of picking a campus the other end/side of the country, picking one and living at home . . . What kind of learning adventure is that?  Good grief!  You have to grow up sometime, why not from 18-21/22?
What's wrong with growing up anyway?  There seem to be far too many people, not just male, who are stuck in Peter Pan Syndrome.  Acting like aging teenagers.  Grow up!  Take some responsibility - for yourself, then for others.  I dunno, what's the attraction of remaining a teenager?  Or is it that some people are trying to enjoy that part of their lives without the raging hormones?
Meanwhile have a Thought for the Day -

Y'all have a good day now!
