I realise that originally the idea of "Branded" goods & services was to inform the consumer of their quality. Quite what Branding is supposed to do these days, besides inflate the price out of all proportion, I don't know. I mean, why should I pay through the nose for whatever only to advertise the designer/manufacturer - they should be paying me.
OK, so some things are better than others. Apple vs Microsoft etc. Anything with a Fair Trade label (provided it really is FT). Otherwise the only Designer label I support is my own, that is original.
Makes me wonder though, is Tesco's/Sainsbury's/Waitrose's 'Own Brand' a Brand label as well? Hmmm
So
one guy decided to go 'Brand Free' for a year. & now he's written a book about it. Opinions anyone?
