Prison break: Hammy style

Apr 02, 2010 23:17

Rodrigo Bruno Dragon (aka, 'da hamster') escaped this evening. He was found within the hour, and restored to his cage about twenty minutes later. RBD lives to fight another day.

It has helped finish my spring clean, though, which has gone better today than yesterday as we had to move everything out of my room so we could find him. I can't remember my room ever being cleaner.

And, I am almost completely packed for China now, even though we have 3 full days left until we leave. A couple of small problems I've come across whilst of packing, however, are that I own less pairs of socks than days I will be away, and I forgot to count how many t-shirts I've been putting in the suitcase, so I've had to go slightly overboard, just to make sure I don't run out. (Although, to be fair, I wouldn't complain if I was forced to wear my dalek t-shirt multiple times).

Ashes to Ashes
Okay, just to start, I do actually like Alex Drake. Or, I liked series 2 Alex Drake. Admittedly, she is no Sam Tyler, but I don't harbour this hate of her which many people seem to have. And in terms of the whole Gene/Alex thing, I ship them when they're apart, and I ship them when they're working together and the primary focus of the scene isn't the two of them as a couple, but when the writers are actually trying to do vaguely romantic scenes, so far, I've mostly been pretty unimpressed.

A few points I would make on this episode are,
- I have yet to see a 3rd series of a show which I really, really liked. So this season has a lot to live up too.
- I am getting slightly tired of characters being introduced who seem to swing from seeming good too bad  five times every episode, like this new Jim guy.
- I really, really hope that Jim's little speech at the end about how he'll be hated for standing up against the well-loved person, but then everyone will realise how bad said well-loved person actually is, then we'll all love Jim, doesn't symbolises how the audience will turn against Gene through this series.
- I don't like Alex's hair this series, it looks too harsh, and coupled with the fact that she's so ridiculously tall, she looks a bit too masculine, in my opinion. I liked what she was wearing this episode though. Especially compared to Shaz's clown outfit at the end of the episode.
- Wasn't it fairly obvious from the beginning that the Step-mum was involved? I usually suck at working this stuff out, but even I got this one. I can forgive though, I know this episode was far more about Alex than the actual detective bit.
- Chris was very impressive, I didn't want to punch him once this episode.
- The half faced guy creeps me out more than any of the other strange stalker people.
- Jealous Gene at the end of the episode, is made of win.
- As is the fact that they've started talking about Sam again, yay!
Generally, I'd say this wasn't an amazing episode, but with promise for the rest of the series!
