I got thirsty, found that drinking water all day is getting boring (and I’m staring to taste the wonderful crap that lives in my pipes), so I figured I’d ride down to the gas station. It’s been a while since I’ve seen ice at all. Kinda wanted to experience it, for old times sake or something.
So, down the stairs. Slipped near the bottom but had my hand on the rail holding, so I just needed to replant my feet. Everything was fine until I needed to make the left turn into the station. Opps, can’t turn that tight on an uphill slant. The very, very slow motion slide off the bike was amusing. So, I pull into the station, walk in, and get the smart ass that works at night (he’s the one who made a big deal about me coming back in 10 minutes because I forgot my wallet). He thought I was retarded for riding my bike in this weather. I told him “No, not retarded. I know just how dangerous it is. Therefore I’m merely stupid.” This got the other worker to laugh some.
The ride home was more eventful. Offbalanced, I landed on my ass at one point. I guess filling out back there has some advantages … But, mostly, the whole trip was pretty mundane. Amusing, but not fantastically.
Also, school’s closed until noon tomorrow. I get to sleep in. Yay for me.
Nope, closed for the whole day. Now I will be home when UPS arrives. If they arrive.
