I spoke with new Meathead today about working out twice a day instead of dieting (because I hate dieting). He said that I should try pre-planning meals. So here’s my attempt for Thursday (tomorrow) :

This follows a disappointing Master’s Swim yesterday. I actually bailed out of some of the workout.
I know. I am also disappointed. I started feeling paranoid that I hadn’t swum well recently, that I didn’t know what to do about it…lo and behold, I started feeling fatigued and nervous early on in the opening 300. Yes, even in workouts, my head gets in the way.
Workout:
total so far drill - warm up: 300 swim, kick, pull 900 5 x 150’s: 100 fast, 50 half-pace (both at 1:40 send off) 1650 10 x 50’s (kick down, swim back, 1:10 send off) 2150 warm down: 5 x 100 2650
…except I shaved off 100 from the warmup (50 off on the kick, 50 off on the pull), didn’t do all the 150’s (certainly didn’t sprint), and I skipped one of the ending 50’s. And I only did a 100 cool down. so, my total: 2650 - 100 - 250 - 50 - 400 = 1850. One of my shortest Master’s workouts ever. At least I broke a mile (1650).
I don’t even want to talk about it, I’m so annoyed. I’m thinking of signing up for a swim class that the Other Lilia recommends, she says it really helped her speed/technique. Problem is it’s Monday and Wednesday @ 7 am. Yeesh.
I’m feeling a little intimidated right now, but hopefully tomorrow’s spin class will re-invigorate me. yay diane!
