List of current claims, projects, and unfinished/unwritten stories. To help my own sanity and because I'm pretty bored here at work.
BE CAREFUL, BECAUSE I SPOIL MY OWN IDEAS HERE.
I have to write them down or else I'll forget them, but if you don't want to know, don't highlight anything. The lj-cuts are safe. Just don't highlight the white text if you don't want to know.
...who am I kidding? Nobody cares about my spoilers except me. XDDD

Fanfiction.net Unfinished Works
A Shine Like Gold - Man, and I'm so close, too. I've got the ending in my head. I just have to get there. I've really lost interest in this one. A lot of people seemed to like it but man, it's just so boring to me now.
The Aurora Project - if it weren't for the pestering of
deadshrimpblues I would've ignored this one LA LA LA. It could use a strong revamp, as I've learned so much more about writing FFVII since then.
The Warming Up series - again, got tons in my head -- there's a Vincent/Yuffie that's full of cracktacular angst (and drugs!!!), there's a Cloud/Aeris, there's a Yuffie/Cloud - there are a ton more. I need to write.
Original Unfinished Works
Beacon. A fantasy story based on an RPG that does not exist. It's the best plot I've ever come up with, really. (It's a joint project with my brother, he helps a lot!) A very detailed world with characters that literally talk to me in my head. I will be writing this eventually because it will take over my brains if I don't, but it's slow goings.

Eeek.

Untitled Sequel to Out of the Mist - kind of obsolete now, since my writing style has changed so much since Out of the Mist that it would make no sense. But I'd like to write about Rydia/Edge.
Various random AUs
- An AU playing with the earthquake in Mist - what if Cecil and Kain both woke up together in the desert with Rydia? What if Cecil and Kain woke up together in the desert, but Rydia was stranded and found by Golbez? (Ooooh, her potential for evil! Like Wicked Lady from Sailor Moon oh god did I actually just write that) What if Kain and Rydia woke up in the desert, and Golbez took Cecil? (This was actually claimed before I could get to it, by
ovo_lexa I believe. But I'd still like to play with it.)
- An AU in which Rydia is left in Fabul and raised by Yang and his wife, only to find the Land of Summons much later (inspired by that damn blabble I wrote for
mount_ordeals which now won't leave my head alone).
- An AU in which Kain convinces Rosa to join him while she is being held captive in Zot. EVIL ROSA. Because Rosa doesn't get enough love. PLUS IT'S ROSA/KAIN which paves the way for all sorts of fantastic pairings. Cecil/Rydia? Cecil/Edge? Cecil/Kain/Rosa OT3 OF DOOM?

Inertia and Echoes - Terra-centric fic featuring prominent Locke/Celes.
Terra regained consciousness in Mobliz giving birth; her child's origin is a mystery to her. The child became ill when magic left the world, and Terra can find nothing to cure her. She turns to Celes, the only other person she knows with ties to the Empire, in hopes that Celes will help her. Celes and Locke, who are trying to have a child, have their own problems to deal with; so both Terra and Celes set off to explore the remains of the Empire in search of answers.
(highlight for Sev-spoilers)Eventually we find that Kefka actually impregnated Terra with Celes's child - fusing their cells - in the hopes of having a very powerful magickal baby. The operation left Celes barren. Terra gives the child to Locke and Celes, since Celes is actually one of its biological mothers, and since they can have no children of their own.
I'm basically writing this entire thing to use the following lines of dialogue:
Locke: "So Terra had Celes's baby."
Sabin: *spittake*
Edgar: "Terra ... Celes ... what?"
Setzer: "And they didn't let us watch?"
...Just kidding, but you've gotta admit it's pretty funny.

Darkest Knowledge - The huge crossover of doom. Basically, I wrote this back in middle school, and while most of it was crap, some of the ideas were actually pretty good. I want to re-write it, mostly just to prove to myself that I wasn't totally crap it can be done well.
I don't really know, since I'm going to re-write the parts that suck: which may or may not be the plot. But it had Kain/Terra. KAIN/TERRA. OMGtheirloveissoangsty!!

Daughters of Avalon - Game sequel story. Everything comes back to Ellone, and she had like NO time in FFVIII. Or not enough. Anyway, she is the center, and everything unravels from there.
(highlight for Sev-spoilers)*gasp* Where to begin?
Future: There are three sisters: Edea, Esora, and Emeraude. Edea, the eldest, is a whitemage, and shows little interest in her power-hungry mother's black magic and schemes for power. Esora, the middle child, is a power-hungry blackmage following almost directly in her mother's crazy footsteps. Emeraude, the youngest, shows no propensity for magic, and is married off almost immediately to pump out children. (In this age, having too much magic in the blood causes madness. Because Sev is OBSESSED with CRAZY SORCERESSES.)
Esora finds a Knight for herself and, with the boost in power, kills her mother, hoping to inherit her mother's grey magic (time magic). However, her mother, in one last angry fit, passes the grey magic on to the child in Esora's womb. After the child is born Esora bans it from her sight almost immediately, naming the poor girl Alone and keeping her captive in a dungeon, separating her from even her own father.
Edea, seeing the madness inherent in her family, swears off having anything to do with this and vanishes. No one knows where she has gone, but Esora is slowly going crazy, so no one pays it much attention.
Emeraude is approached one day by Esora's Knight, carrying poor Alone in his arms: Esora has abused the girl to no end, and plans on hunting down Emeraude's three children as well. The Knight begs Emeraude to take the children somewhere safe: he will stay, attempting to keep his thin hold on Esora's sanity. Emeraude, who is secretly a greymage, agrees to cast Alone back into time, somewhere in the past where she will be safe.
Esora, learning of her Knight's betrayal, leaves him, guaranteeing her own descent into madness. She takes her mother's title - the Ultimecia of Avalon - and plots.
Emeraude finally fears for the safety of her own three children. In a huge manifestation of her latent powers, she casts herself and all three of them backwards in time - to her sister, Edea. This casting leaves her completely magicless, but gets her into the past, where she had previously hidden Edea, and Esora's child.
Edea finds her - she has found some footing in this world, and started an orphanage, but she has seen no sign of Alone. Edea insists that Emeraude give her the children - they will be safer as orphans, safe from the revenge she is sure Esora will be seeking. Emeraude cannot fathom giving up all her children, but eventually Edea's logic convinces her. In tears, she turns the two eldest, Quistis and Selphie, over to Edea: but she begs her sister to let her keep the youngest, Rinoa.
Edea takes the two children into her care and returns to her orphanage; Emeraude leaves to look for Alone. She cannot go by her real name, even here in the past, so she adopts a new name: her mother called her Avalon's Jewel, both for her beauty and her uselessness, so she tries to go by Jewel, but is misheard, and soon adopts the name Julia.
The story continues from there, but this is already really freaking long, and I don't have all the details worked out yet.
-FFX-
Ciirca Eterna - an AU fic that undoes the ending. Takes place immediately after Yunalesca's defeat. Yevon's lies weren't entirely lies.
Yuna is bound to Seymour by their marriage - an ancient magic Seymour used against her - and finds herself the Guado's captive on a strangely mystical island. Seymour is holding her to use her in the Final Summoning: now that Yunalesca is gone he must figure out the ancient magic himself before his plan can go into motion.
The rest of the Guardians are trying to save Yuna and at the same time devise a way to defeat Sin, since they were wrong - it will truly depend on a Final Summoning.
(highlight for Sev-spoilers)
Highlights of this one include:
- I was amazed at FFX's lack of Leviathan, so I decided to add him in. This of course made me think of FFIV, so I wanted to add both him and Asura. Sadly, The Shape Of His Heart has gotten to this idea before me, so I don't want to look like I'm stealing it. But yeah, Leviathan. And Asura is Anima's twin Aeon-sister.
- To get in touch with Yuna through the fayth, someone must Summon. And the one chosen for this is Rikku, who - although Al Bhed - is at least related to Yuna.
- Lulu's past on the isle of Avalon (can you tell I am obsessed with Avalon mythology? XD)
- The final solution: Yuna chooses Tidus to be her Final Aeon. Sin tries to possess Tidus, but since Tidus is a dream, they both vanish. Yuna dies from the Final Summoning. On an alternate plane (the dream-plane of the fayth), she and Tidus together fight and defeat Sin. So Yuna and Tidus are both gone, but they manage to bring the Eternal Calm.
