So, wait, I have a job? This thing where I show up and do stuff and travel around and they pay me for it. That's weird, didn't remember having one of these. It's kind of nice, really. I think my lungs and liver are very thankful for the break. Plus I took a nap last night, then woke up for a bit just so I could go back to sleep. So I get spared a chemical overload and finally get more than six hours of sleep in a day.
The break was good, if just a little hectic. Went down to Austin for the first time in months, and managed to see almost everyone, have a really good time, and watch Zombieland again. Did miss Book People and Waterloo though, so another trip might need to be lined up soon. That shouldn't be too hard, I think Justine wants to go down there too.
Alex and I trekked out to Amarillo for a few days of cold and limited media access. We ate a bunch of food, hung out, and generally had an ok time. Nothing says Christmas at the Cason's like quiet and getting your book read. After a harrowing hundred mile journey over the aftermath of the previous day's blizzard through Wichita Falls on Christmas Day, we parted ways for a bit and I got to sleep in my own bed for the first time in what felt like an age. Spent the rest of the weekend in Sulphur. Watched movies, cooked, had fun, blah, blah, blah. Came home to ER drinks, greasy pizza that I had been craving for weeks, and seeing friends.
The rest of the week was a lot of fun, involved drinking at inappropriate times, lots of laughing, girls, dancing, card games, beer stealing, picture taking, fetch playing, coffee drinking and a few other things I can't think of right now. A lovely blur of fun, that I'm trying to remember as just one weird, long day, because I like it better that way.
Anyway, I guess I'm moving into the new apartment this weekend. While I'll miss the shitty old place, the new place might actually be suitable for guests. That could be good.
