Wipe the dust off! *Achoo!* That's better.

I suck at updating this thing. Not as bad as Cale, Crux or Arthur, but that's practically impossible.. wait. That means I'm in the lead! The one-eyed man is king!

SoOooo... I've been working a whole lot writing as usual. I'm thinking about finding a new job not in Journalism. After two years I'm thinking about a change of pace to Public Relations.

My new editor isn't very good, and there's not many interesting stories to break where I'm at. The thrilling stories are far apart, and the paycheck is bad, the latter is more a problem when there's no journalistic thrill to take your mind off it.

I think the problem is also that for many Journalists, your work is the most important thing in your life. For me, the most important thing is enjoying it and spending time with Sharon- my work is second to that. Which isn't how it's always been, but its how I've felt ever since I met Sharon. Many of my coworkers are single, or have relationships that come second to their work.

For instance, this week they were all willing to come in sick and work themselves until they keeled over. That's typical behavior for a journalist. Work comes second to yourself. It stems from a sense of personal ownership of a paper. A lot of people don't get that Journalists feel that a bad paper reflects badly on them - even if it's caused by a lack of news, which they have no control over.

That's why journalists will work overtime for low or no pay, rather than just going home and leaving it half done because that's all they're paid to do. It baffles a lot of people that I'd do overtime when I'm not paid for it. But that overtime cuts into time with Sharon, which I don't like.

So when I haven't been spending time working or with Sharon, I've been spending it writing freverently for the two campaigns I run on a weekly basis - Naruto and Star Wars. Naruto I run for Sharon, while Star Wars I have three players in. It can be pretty taxing to write two four to five hour sessions a week. Probably the reason I have little time for RP these days.

Star Wars is going to wrap up soon, which will be exciting, I've been running it for about two years now. I'm planning to run a Shin Megami Tensei/Digital Devil Saga D20 Modern campaign after this, with elements from Hellsing, Ghost In The Shell and Black Lagoon. By elements, I mean Hellsing and Iscariot will be in it. Very fun.

The trick was making the themes all match. I'm pretty sure I've got it figured out. It'll be a four player campaign, I've invited a guy from the local gaming store who seems pretty awesome. I'm very much looking forward to it. It'll start in Roanupur, Thailand, and one of the characters owns an underground bar.

It took me forever to compile a Demon Compendium with pictures- there's literally hundreds of demons in it, all with appropriate D20 levels (I had to add ten epic levels).

I'm also writing a whole campaign book from scratch - it's not strictly D20 Modern. It's actually a hybrid of Star Wars Saga, D&D, D20 Modern and Naruto RPG rules along with a few ideas of mine. There's no classes, only a heroic and non-heroic base class. The system largely relies on Talent Trees or ``Paths'' that can be unlocked depending on requirements, and Feats. ``Auxilliary'' feats at Lvl 1 affect things such as summoning, shaping (magic) and race. Mass Damage rules are pretty unforgiving. There's also two other attributes on top of the six D&D abilities - there's now Spirit (Self Identity) and Luck.

Luck is particularly fun- the modifier works like destiny points in SW. If you have a +2 modifier, you can elect to reroll a dice roll twice a day and you must take the second result. However, it doesn't mean you look stylish- everyone knows you pulled it off by the skin of your teeth, or luck. A minus means the GM can force you to reroll a dice roll that number of times a day, and take the second result.

Which is very fun for me if someone takes it (I doubt it!). It would mean I could make people reroll a natural 20. A very fun addition. ^_^ There's also talents where you can force someone /else/ to reroll an attack roll with your luck modifier for the day, like an ``aura of good/bad luck''.

Spirit came up to represent magatsuhi levels. Since you can be charismatic, intellegent and wise- but still have a poor sense of self - I decided to come up with an attribute for that. Eight attributes is a lot, but I'm certain it will work. The problem will be trying not to make the system too complicated for players in the process.

I'll be planning to turn the book into a PDF, but I'll see how I go. I've almost completed the whole thing, with the exception of the rules that need to be ripped out of other campaign guides. Since that's the least fun part, I've been leaving that 'till last.

Other than that I've logged on to the Muck a few times, RPed once - but it's been difficult to find time when people aren't asleep because it's 2am in their time slot. I've got to make some time to play Dat some more.

Well, until the next update!
