traykor was here! We went to Disneyland! It was amazing.
It's all tarted up for Christmas, of course, which is something they do so well. Jingle Cruise is fantastic and awful, as Jungle Cruise ought to be. Small World is as usual gorgeous. The whole resort looks gorgeous.
Paint the Night remains mindblowing and earwormy and exactly the hit of whatever brain chemicals I'm short of right now.
Winter World of Color is nice. Better than current new WoC, despite too much Olaf. I mean, Josh Gad annoys when he's playing a human, give him a cartoon to play and he inspires homicide fantasies. Someday that fucking Let It Go song will make visceral sense to me.
So, the new Star Wars stuff, which is basically a new scene in Star Tours and the overlay on Space Mountain. There's also a prop gallery in Innoventions and a supercut/introduction to the new movie in the Captain EO theater.
The new Star Tours scene is neat, splashy and shows off the new movie without being the least bit spoilery (except for the bit about John Boyega flying the Falcon).
The Innoventions gallery is cool. There's props from all three trilogies, a couple meet and greets, and a very high priced gift store. Also a nice little film with some of the people involved in both the new trilogy and the side movies talking about how amazing Star Wars is and how amazing getting to work on it has been. There's something similar (with fewer props) upstairs for Avengers.
We need to talk about Hyperspace Mountain. I have been waiting 35 1/2 years to do exactly that thing. It made me cry both times. Just, yes.
