I've been on a food binge for the past few days. I've ballooned. Not really, but I feel large (and yet so deflated).
First I packed my stuff. Then I did a last minute picking-over, which involves seeing something (ex: my stereo) and going "Oh, dad, pack that" and him putting it in a box and setting it by the door. It's surprising how much stuff is by the door after the trailer is packed...
But I guess I'm all set. Tired. Bloated. But pretty much set. This still doesn't feel real to me, especially since I've been keeping very busy the past week. Hanging out, food binging, hanging out more, etc.
Today I took Matt to Athens registration. God was looking out for him, obviously:
We had to get his schedule since he's a transfer, so we went to the guidance office. Then we had to deal with a "see counselor" 3rd hour. Once they said Rinnan was available, we went in, but he said he was busy. We sat and waited. For a long time. We punched each other a lot. Then, Mr. Clary walked up and said "I can take you now." So, rather than wait, we went with him. Basically, the only available class that hour was "children's theater." Not Matt's gig. The other choice was student assistant, but 1. he doesn't know his way around and 2. he doesn't know any teachers to assist. So Mrs. Decker just happens to walk by to drop off a class change sheet, and he asks her opinion. She suggests that he tell Clary his interests and they can see if an opening pops up. Matt mentions that he likes photography (understatement of the year. He's amazing at it and should do it for a living and he loooooooooooooves it). Mr. Clary looks down at the just-delivered yellow slip of paper and says "Oh, this girl has just requested to drop photo 1...3rd hour first semester." Okay, coincidence? I think not. So Matt has photography because of that crazy sequence of events. We were both so happy we forgot to go around to his classes. Whoops!
I'm so tired...and my ears keep popping...and it's hot.
I went in to give blood with my dad and mom today. I've been taking vitamins that have your entire suggested amount of iron for a day in them (to make sure I had enough to give). I drank 50 some ounces of water to make sure I was hydrated. I thought I was totally ready.
Well, first they test your blood's iron content. My dad's blood sunk in the liquid like a rock (which is desirable) so he went in to give. My mom's blood floated at the top, so they had to centrifuge it. She failed. Her iron was 33 and she needed 38. I thought I'd be fine, because her iron's always been low (though she's been taking those pills too). My iron was 35. Still too low. Yeah, I didn't eat any meat today, but I should have been fine! I have a haunch that last time they let me give with low iron and that's why I got dizzy and nearly fainted. I remember my blood sunk pretty slowly when they tested it. It could have been borderline, I suppose. But this sucks. I was looking forward to that for a long time.
11:11 make a wish...*********...
:-) I suppose I should rest up for the long car ride...and for carpet shopping. And I guess I'll see everyone next break. I wish you all an excellent school year and lots of safety and happiness.
As always, Kisses and Hugs!
