Well, I guess life never fails to remind you that you cannot be naive and close your eyes when you kiss someone.
Sunday I went to the guys' soccer game in New Jersey; it took my mind off of the night before and the damage I did to my ankles. Amber, Ashley and I were screaming out some pretty absurd and rude comments to the other team (who's bench was just five feet infront of us). I said things like, "DAN GOONIE, YOU SUCK!" and "My MOTHER can kick the ball better than you!" and "This is MEN'S soccer, not WOMEN'S soccer!" It was fun. :) In the last two minutes of the game, our guy kicked the ball into their net, basically securing our win.. and a fight almost broke out on the field. Then the girls from that school tried fighting the girls from our school. Needless to say, our guys ended up winning and became the NorthEast Conference Champions!! The guys were soooo excited.. it was fun seeing them get all happy.
Sunday night every athlete from school went to some bar called Annies, but I try to avoid places that harbor more than five LIU students. =P Omer (finally back from that soccer tournament!) and Eugene took me into Manhattan, to some ritsy lounge called Suede. There was a long line outside, but Omer walked up to the doorman/manager and the two shook hands. The guy opened the rope and escourted us inside; I felt pretty important. Open bar till 12 and I was pretty tipsy. I think I even tried dancing with some girl who looked at me as if I were strange. Sorry, sweetie.. you're not my type. =P I came back to the dorms around 3am, and passed out. When I woke up, Matt was in my bed, with his arm around me. It was cute, I thought, at the time.
Later in the day, I found out he had been completely making out with some random girl at the bar everyone went to, and everyone was telling me about it. I called him up and said, "Can you do me a favor? Can you not sleep in my bed anymore?" He asked what was wrong and I said, "Nothing. I just don't care for two-faced people." He asked, "Is this about the girl I kissed last night?" I said, "Perhaps. I don't like the idea of you making out with some girl and then coming to sleep in my bed. Ew, Matt. I don't want to talk to you, either. Seriously, don't call me." And I hung up. He called back saying that he had made a mistake, that he was wrong, and I told him "that's unfortunate", and hung up once again. I'm not about to be walked on. Actually, to be perfectly honest, I was almost thankful that he did it.. it really helps make my decision so much easier. Now I can really pull myself away from having interest in him. Everything happens for a reason...
At lunch yesterday, as I was about to leave, I ran into Aaron. I said, "Are you ever going to be un-lazy?" (Referring to him not running with me the time I had asked.) He laughed and said, "How can I get ahold of you?" I said, "You could call.. or come to my room - 15A." He said, "Oh, alright. Well here, come sit with me for a minute and I'll get your number." I must admit, I was flushed with excitement. We sat down and he jotted down my number.. and we began to talk. We had one of the best conversations I've had since being up here.. no, it was THE best, without a doubt. We sat in the cafeteria for an hour. His eyes were so dashing.. he made perfect eye contact with me. I laughed and tried to be as posed as possible. Afterwards, we left together and parted ways, with him promising me a phone call.
I saw him again at night, just after I had run my two miles. He stopped as he was leaving the caf and said, "Devon, hi. I was thinking about you earlier.. I almost called you, but I was so busy." I said, "It's ok!" and sort of waved goodbye as I walked into the caf. I smiled to myself because he said he was thinking about me. =)
Szymon came to hang out with me last night.. and it has truly been three weeks since he and I have really talked. It was fun.. it always is. We watched soccer together, as he has really gotten me into the game. He came at 10:30 and stayed till 2:30am. We both fell tired and he left to go back to his room. BUT, his roommates had locked him out and weren't answering the door, so he returned and I gave him a blanket and he slept on the extra bed in the room.
Today was pretty good. Went to class, volunteered to be an attorney in this sort of mock trial in class. Went to plyos and surprisingly Brian was in my session today.. we talked much of the time, during the jogs around the building and in between sprints. Then we had lunch together. He's a nice guy. Everyone here makes him out to be an arrogant jerk but I see beyond his rough exterior. He's a good kid. I haven't yet seen Aaron, though I must say I've been anxious to. And MattM called me last night, asking me to hang out; what, after a week of not returning my call? Please. =P Now I'm about to go down to the field to run sprints. I am definitely not looking forward to them.. =P But I like running so I'll deal with it. I've also started a fruit&veggies only diet, which I've been doing well on so far. Breakfast-Mixed Fruit (90cal) and Lunch-Salad and veggies (200cal). Might have dinner, but not sure yet. I have a paper that was due today for english, but I am an idiot and didn't start until this afternoon. =P
Oh, last night, Szymon and I stumbled upon this video and I must share it with you all! :) It's hilarious.. I dont' even know how we found it. But it's a video from last year of Richard (our soccer goalie), lipsinging to the camera (I'm guessing he did something really bad to his girlfriend).. and in the background 30 seconds into it, two guys in shorts pop up and start dancing and singing the chorus. Well, funny enough, one of the guys is MATT! Haha.. he's wearing RED SHORTS, you can't miss him! You guys have to see this.. You can get a better idea of what he looks like (even though I'm kicking him to the curb).
