This week we hearken back to a more innocent time, when we all thought that outer space would be made of shiny tights, ray guns, chicken-faced aliens, flamboyant space heroes, giant monsters, green women, and the mortality of anyone in a red shirt.
For examples, see the original Star Trek, the original Battlestar Galactica, the Jetsons, and Space Channel 5. This is the kind of spacey feel we're going for.
I know you're all as excited as I am, and of course you should be. In fact, I've taken the liberty of temporarily relocating all of you to the USS Masterprise, a fully equipped combat-ready battle cruiser with which to battle the invading forces of outer space!
[This event will last all week, so threads dedicated this can be drawn outside of this post. Keep an eye out for uninhabited planets, space pirates, evil aliens, and those sumptuous green women.]
