now, i don't like to to do the soapbox thing very often, or if at all. i have enough drama at work and at home and with close friends to not have to deal with drama amongst my online friends, or my online play areas like livejournal

that was not aimed at you no matter how you feel. i've had similar discussions with a lot of people over the last few years and it just got to a point where i needed to say it out loud.
you're entitled to do whatever you feel is necessary. i want you to know that.
i look at my lj as my interactive digital scrapbook of my life where interactions with friends and loved ones are gathered and documented all in one place.
for people who don't blog, they don't realize how awesome it is. i mean, in twenty years we can look back and read all the ups and downs and accomplishments in our lives with the random sassy comments from our bestest friends, that just blows my mind!
so why tarnish such a fantastic gift by falling into high school-esque drama and politics? i mean, keep it real, keep it you. that's what's most important.
fandom. friends. trends. they all come and go, the only constant is what you put out there. so it should be genuine, and be you. unaltered and honest, confident and precious!
i'm glad we got to know each other too. we come from totally different corners of hockey fandom, barely meeting in the middle here and there and yet, we get along better than most. that is a precious gift indeed. :D
*blushes* it took a lot to write it. but it's been my thoughts and feelings for ages now, and instead of reiterating till i go blue i felt i should put it down in my lj.
