Ah! how I miss being a music FREAK!

I miss spending hours listening to music just for the absolute fun of it. I miss listening to random haitian radio just to hear what it sounds like- to find random awesome artists from Yukoslavia that no one's ever heard of!

a few days ago, someone gave me an IPOD! They got I was looking around for music to put on it, and its like I've been reborn- as a human being again!

How did I ever forget how much I like music?

I found a song I loved off of a Korean soap opera called "Soulmate"- It's called "Come on Through"

get this- it's sung by a (*I'm pretty sure*) Swedish guy named Lasse Lindh.

Korean soap with a swedish guy on singing english on their soundtrack. hehehe.

I heart culture confusion.

This whole soundtrack is actually really cool. the song I'm listening to is on the soundtrack. It's got a sick beat, with some of that techno-esque beat in the background but it's an actual song, so it's just is the kind of song you want to chair-dance too. You really can't sit still.

I love music!

I was so stressed studying for my music history test- I wanted to punch a wall, or the guy who developed the renaissance motet (*or mostly my teacher*) right in the face for making my life difficult. I wanted to throw an overzealous music history anthology bookburning party, and kill a kitten(*figuratively- like maybe a beenie baby kitten*), and hang from a chandelier screaming " JOSQUIN DE PREZ AND CLAUDIN DE SERMISY CAN KISS MY GRITS b/c I"M NOT LISTENING TO ANOTHER MOTET OR CHANSON for the rest of my FRIGGIN SHORT LIFE (*counts grey hairs*)!!!!"

I was about to give up, when I noted that I had earbuds in my purse (*a necessary purchase for listening to my vocal pieces on random computers in public places where I can't turn it on without pissing someone off*)

and I was like "WHAT the HEY! I'll put on some internet radio, and calm down, and listen to something soothing, like Enya or something."

What i ended up listening to was Irish alternative music. hehehe. It was like I had just drank a cup of coffee laced with motivation or happiness or something! it was better than valium. My anger vanished, my fears calmed, and my anxiety was quelled. I wrote out my essay for tomorrow, and mouth to a Flogging Molly song, and felt like I had 20 screaming Irishmen cheering me on -

(*in amanda's head....*)

(*cue rhythmic celtic dance music*)

Irishmen: "YEEWH CAHN DEEWW EEHT! YEEWH CAHN SHAWH THAWHT BLOOODEH PROHFEHSAR HOOW THAH FRENCH CHANSON DEHVEHLOPED ENTO THE LATE RENAISSANCE!!! WHO'S DOCTAR O'CONNOR's MUMMEH!!!

(*pwns her Music History 1 professor as bawdy irishmen swill lager and laugh raucously*)

(*end happy toe-tapping dream sequence*)

I LOVE MUSIC! I can't believe I forgot!

I'm so happy I remembered.

:)

(*skips off to rediscover her Jem obsession, and finish her short answer questions*)
