I went to get my haircut since it was past my shoulders. I asked for something that hit the middle of my neck so it would grow back out by fall. The woman went a little crazy and cut to my chin. I like it, but I wasn't really ready to give up on the longer hair. At least my hair grows at epic speeds. Judging by last summer's standards, by September I'll be able to put it in a ponytail again.
In other news, Ankle #2 is almost ready to come out of its brace. I'm going to be nice to it until Dillo Day since the last thing I want is for some drunk to bump into me and be back on crutches. Crutches are the worst things on earth, especially in the springtime.
The timeline of the cripplage:
7 weeks ago, Sunday-- kind of twist my right ankle and wear a brace for about three days. Nothing big, just being on the safe side. I can walk on it right away in a brace.
5 weeks ago, Sunday-- 10:00 am Warming up for a soccer game that I apparently am not on the roster for. We forfeit and decide to plany anyway. The broken sole of my shoe catches on the grass and I go down. I call St. Joan at 2:00, and afterwards go to Kazoo choir rehearsal. I go to the hospital around 9:30 pm.
3 weeks ago, Sunday-- I'm in the little black brace, but able to do things like play Frisbee and dance around. It's Field day, after all. I get a ride there in a shopping cart since I'm still slow. I roll my left ankle by overcompensating around 1 pm, and then sit around and tell myself that it's really fine. I don't tell anybody, I just switch the brace to the other foot and ice it. I win a pie eating contest standing on one foot. I get a ride back in the shopping cart as well. Around 11 I decide that I actually have to deal with the injury, go back to the hospital, and am back on crutches.
