So I went to the doctor today. I was nervous all day because I knew that I had to get a shot. When I finally get to the doctor, she tells me that I actually need two. Sucks but what was I gonna do? So she left me in the room saying she'll be back soon. Well, my past experiences @ doctors offices have taught me enough to know that "soon" is usually like, half an hour. There was no difference today.
I was sitting there all alone waiting forever. I kept jiggling my leg out of nerves but I was still nervous. I started to fall asleep. I was doing anything I could to calm myself. Well, she finally came back (she was oober nice) but my sisters and my dad were accompanying her. Turns out my sister Rachele needed a shot. Not only did she need a shot....I needed a freakin' third shot!
So of course Rachele got to get her's first. The nurse came in and told her that it was going to hurt a lot but to lessen the hurt, she could get it in her hip. So my dad left but I stayed in the room with her. When she was about to get poked, she said, "Brittney, hold my hand....!" so I held her hand and she started to squeeze it, harder and harder until I was worried that she was going to break my fingers. This was simply not comforting. Her hand told me all I needed to know about the pain.
So Rachele left and it was my turn. I had anice talk with the nurse and we discussed where she would put the shots. She told me to relax my arm as best as I could. Hah, y'know what I did?? Remember those stupid breathing gym dvds we had to watch in choir? Well, there was this one where they bent over hanging so they were completely relaxed. So I took my arm and flung it down so it was just hanging. Then as she gave me the unexpected typhoid shot, I closed my eyes. The breathing gym thing worked pretty good actually. Then she gave me my two hepatitis shots in my left arm. She was telling me about this 15 year old boy who refused to get his shots, I think she was trying to keep me distracted.
When she was done I said, "Oh my gosh, I love you, you are so wonderful." She laughed at me. Then I left and she told me I was a very charming young lady.
I don't think I'm very charming. Maybe I'm only charming when getting shots...
We had an hour drive home because of traffic. I got so carsick....that was weird because I never get carsick anymore.
My arms are hurting so bad right now, I can't raise them :-(
I hope everyone has a good night...I have to eat dinner
