Title: Pokes and Prods
Summary: Off to see the Healers!
Characters: Aglaia, Daranyl, Makoto
Location: Infirmary, Half Moon Bay Weyr
Time: N/A
RL Date: 11/15/2014

It's mid-afternoon and the infirmary is just a bit busy; thus, when Aglaia enters with her hand and arm wrapped in a bandage, she's ushered to the waiting area and that's where she's left. It doesn't seem to be wildly urgent, at least, despite the blood soaking the cloth. Her expression is a grim one, but there's no screaming or flailing from her. She just sits, arm uplifted a little, while she waits for one of the examination tables to open up. Unfortunately, it might be just a little while; there are Candidate physicals to be done, a pregnancy scare or two to clear up, and a solid handful of work-related injuries among the populace that need more immediate attention.

Makoto comes out a room, clipboard in hand, talking to a healer, tool bag as always slung over her shoulder. She scribbles somethign on a piece of paper and hands it to them. After a bit more talking, the healer leaves for a moment to get a small package that they give Makoto. After a bit more talking, Makoto pulls up her bag and starts to head out before spotting Aglia and scooting over with concern, looking to her and then her hand. "W-What happened to you? - A-Are you okay?"

Daranyl does not like infirmaries. He does not like them, Sam I Am, he does not like them in a can, he does not like them with a fox, he does not like them in a box. He just flops down beside Aglaia with a grumble, "Sharding physical. I'm in perfect shape." He looks over, then frowns, echoing Makoto's question, "Wha' th' scorch happened ta yer arm?"

The young woman is making a pointed effort at not looking at her hand, which remains lifted above heart level for the time being. Aglaia blinks out of whatever daze she's in and offers Makoto and Daranyl a lopsided grin. "Hey. Yeah, no- I mean, I'm fine. Or will be. I wasn't being careful and a chunk of wood got me pretty good." There's a beat, then: "Or pretty badly, I guess." Her nose wrinkles a bit and she cuts a look to Makoto, "Are you okay? I know you are," that's aimed for Daranyl, with a tip of her head to acknowledge his lament and express her empathy. "They just want to make sure we're not going to die on the sands or something, I'm sure."

Makoto looks at the hand with a grimace. "If... if you say it's gonna be alright..." She waes her hand. "Don't worry about me, I was just hear fixing stuff." Mostly. She smiles a bit at Daranyl. "... Hey hopefully after you get it over with you won't have to come back for awhile, right?"

Daranyl gives the hand a look, then snorts softly, "Mebbe. Jus' don' see th' poin'. I was in here a few months back, anyway, so they know jus' how fit I am. This whole thing's jus' a formality ta force me ta come back in." For the follow up he's been putting off for, oh, two months. "Looks like a coupla stitches 'n' some bandages fer yer han'... Wha's broken this time, Mako'o?"

Aglaia pulls a face, but nods all the same. There's a flicked look of confirmation to Daranyl. "It'll probably need stitches - but, it could be worse." She starts to wiggle her fingers, only to wince. Bad idea! Thankfully, the bandages are pretty thick, so the possible horror is shielded from view. "I'm due for my physical soon, too." Shudder. "I'm sure they have their reasons, even if those reasons are... kind of thin, sometimes. I know why they worry about the girls, but the boys? When they're obviously healthy? Very weird."

"Was a few different things. Few broken parts... but I spent most of time here fixing a light." She winces at Aglaia talk about her hand. "... Stitches." she looks at the bloody wrap. "How... long have you been waiting here...?"

Daranyl winces slightly in sympathy pain, "Yeah, no' like I coul' be pregnan'. 'N' even if'n I had lain with someone since I was searched, no' like they coul' tell." He looks up at Makoto, then shrugs slightly, "No' long, I don' think. Have ya though' abou' tellin' 'em ta stop breakin' things?"

"Not all -that- long," Aglaia asserts, though she does cast a wary glance to the flow of Healers and patients. "It doesn't hurt that much, really. It looks worse than it is. It'll take them less time to take care of it than it took you to fix things, that's how not-serious it is." She tries a reassuring smile for Makoto's sake and, fortunately, she doesn't have to wear it for long. One of the Healers finally frees up enough to motion the young woman over to tend to her hand - and probably take care of the physical while she's at it! She wiggles the fingers of her whole hand at the other two and flashes them a smile before she's taken away in earnest.
