Lately, I've been feeling really dowdy and unfashionable. It's gotten to the point where I'm regularly applying to be on shows such as "What Not to Wear" and "My Closet is Full, but I've got Nothing to Wear". This feeling was exacerbated by a classmate/friend of mine pointing out that I'm lucky because it doesn't matter what I dress like since I'm married. I know he wasn't trying to be mean, but to me it was a painful blow. So, I ordered bought a pair of jeans that actually fits me, and a pair of clearance boots that have a slight heel but are comfortable to wear, and was trying them out today. And what do you know. For the first time in a really long time, someone saw me walking down the street, left the Starbucks where he was enjoying coffee, and chased me down just to ask my name. WOW. I'm not normally a fan of being hit on when walking down the street, but it was just what I needed after feeling so dowdy lately. Sure, it probably helps that he was good looking... but that's besides the point. So, I said "Thank you", told him I was running late, and kept walking... but feeling a little lighter.
