Same. Music groups, sports, Red Cross. Join a group and be really open with the people in it.

Ditto met my best friend at the local metalsmithing group. We were both in our 30s too.

How do you find those?

For example, I like knitting, so I googled knitting groups + my area and found a lost. Same for nature conservancy, other crafty things... I find it all on the internet.

Now that's a good idea. I'd like to learn how to knit. The lady downstairs said she'd teach me. :)

Get the local adult ed nightclasses/continuing education leaflets that your local authority provides. There are lots of hobby/interest courses on offer.
