Stolen Passport

Hey guys. Thanks for all your help last week. Just wanted to update and let everyone know how it went.

Basically, my passport was stolen while I was getting of a plane in Chicago, and I was supposed to be getting on a flight to London right after. Luckily the airline (United) was great and put me on a flight home, gave me vouchers for food (my wallet had been stolen as well), and a hotel for the night. There is a passport agency in Chicago, but as I had no money or ID and, most importantly, no birth certificate I couldn't get there and wouldn't have gotten anything there anyways.

Once I got home, I got my ID sorted, picked up my birth certificate, and headed to the nearest passport agency with my Dad(about 7 hours away). I had to make an appointment, and fill out two forms to file in person. The passport agency does not accept temporary documents, so my paper drivers licence was useless, but I brought my dad to confirm my ID, so it went smoothly in the end. They gave me my new passport after about 3 hours. I called the airline and they gave me a new flight for the next day.

I was supposed to leave Tuesday and ended up leaving on Friday, so it wasn't too bad in the end. I hope it never happens to anyone, but it wasn't so awful with my parents help. The main problem I had was having to drive so much.
