Same here! I think it's the sadistic nature of it - especially in the horror films - that I really take issue with. If I wanted to see sadistic violence, I would just need to turn on the news to hear and see how horrible people can be to each other. Why would I want to watch that on the screen? I'm trying to escape from all that!

Probably more intriguing, more imagination-grabbing, huh? Yeah, I get that completely. And then there's this thing with pathetic characters like Soames that tugs at my heartstrings...*sigh* I promise you, I can really see me up at nights just thinking up some alternate universes where Soames realizes he's being pathetic and decides not to act so pathetic, where Irene changes her mind and makes Soames happy. If for example that night he came to her and she was open to some skin-on-skin contact with him, things might have been a lot different...
