Experiencing the Quintessential Damian, Part I
Of all the projects that Damian has done, the three that really stand out in his career, the "Quintessential Must-See Triad" of Damian projects, if you will, are Band of Brothers, Forsyte Saga, and Keane. Given the rave reviews Damian got in all three of these projects, I think it's absolutely mandatory for a true Damian Lewis fan to have experienced all three at least once. And now I have. Finally.
So now it's time for me to commemorate this special moment with a celebratory picspam...
First up - Band of Brothers. Dude, this is the Granddaddy of all that is Damian Lewis to me. This is what got me in serious Damian Lewis trouble in the first place! This little project of his is responsible for my fan transformation from a "Hey-this-Brit-does-a-decent-American-accent" DL-fan to a "OMG-can't-get-enough-of-him"DL-fan, so I will always have a soft spot for this project (ironic considering how intense the war scenes are). Reminisce with me while I share some of my favorite rewind moments....
"Capt. Sobel doesn't hate Easy Company. He just hates YOU, Randleman." LOL - spoken like a true leader who knows how to boost sagging morale with laughter.
"Capt. Sobel, are personal letters to be considered contraband?" Yes, Lt. Winters, according to my copy of The Jerk's Guide to Basic Training, personal letters ARE to be considered contraband.
Sobel, you are such a prick...(I think that subtle look of disgust says it all, don't you?)
"Lt. Winters, is it safe to cross?" (Winters and Nixon exchange a look - "What in the-?")
(Ok, this is part of the above scene. but I'm throwing it in here for gratuitous "Yes I'm hot in my combat fatigues and camouflage paint" purposes.....)
Taking out the big guns - Lt.. Winters in action - he's soooo commanding! Don't you just love a man who knows what he's doing? Again, Damian's GI - IT FACTOR is off the chain!
"I want fire superiority!" Fire who? Oh, THAT! (He's yelling battle commands but he still manages to look hot! How does he do that?)
"Nix are you alright?" "Yah! Stop looking at me like that!" That was tooo cute!
Shooting the young German SS...I think it's so cool how expressive Damian can be. Damian takes this battlefield-shocked expression and translates it into..
...post-battle horrified remorse...CLASSIC Damian...
Ok, think and ogle all you want, but the reason this picture is here is because I thought it was significant to showing Winters trying to feel normal once more, to feel like a human being again after seeing all that ugliness. No, really, people. (Yes,

And finally, my mostest favoritest scene of all....(let's all say it together, people, you know the words)

*Squeeeeee* I just LOVED that masterful set down! And I loved the little exchange that Winters and Nix had afterwards. Winters looks at Nix as if to say, "Right?" to which Nix just rolls his eyes, snorts and shakes his head as if to say "Typical Sobel.."
Ok, the next two of the "Damian Triad" were, as I said in a previous post, a little difficult to swallow because Damian was doing Dysfunctional (notice the capital D). But I'll have to talk about those later seeing as it's now waaaay past my bedtime and I have to report in to work in a few hours. Another set of auditors are in again. So I have to be there. And awake, preferably.
