Er. Sort of.
Rather, it's so hot, it feel like time is slowing down. And then anytime we do anything, it's like WOW we actually did something despite this heat.
Andrew had a BBQ, me and work people had a BBQ. Second City people go out for drinks after class. I've worked two Jazzin's at Shedd, and those were like parties, because people came and hung out with me after I was done working.
I started working on my zine again.
I got in a bike/car accident. I walked away fine, my bike is fine. I did buy a new helmet, tho, because this is the third or so minor crash (hitting pavement) with this helmet.
Every time I just typed "helmet" I felt a strange urge to type "Helmut Jahn." I'm not sure if that's delightful or just sad.
Everyone's gearing up for Space Prom around these parts. It's exciting! This is going to be a tradition! Maybe. But perhaps that's why it feels as though we've done more than we actually have - because we're all talking about what mayhem and silliness we're going to get up to on Space Prom. I'm working on a Ulala's Swinging Report Show costume. THAT'S RIGHT. SPACE CHANNEL 5. I'M TAKING IT BACK TO 2000.
It's meltingly hot around town. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it doesn't really bother me. On the other hand, WTF Chicago, this is why we can't have anything nice! There's no middle ground.
I think I'm going to Pitchfork Sunday. I hope it doesn't rain.
