britinichu DUDES. SERIOUSLY. The Oprah thing was crazy.
OK, so I went to the Oprah Block Party. Clearly. I showed up around 10:30am and stuck around until about 6pm. More than anything else, I'm annoyed by the inconsistentcy of the crowd control.
This is one of those things that I think I'm just supposed to let roll off of my back. BUT I'm strangely (or not so strangely, perhaps) ENRAGED by bad mob mentality. Crowd thinking. I brought this up at book club (plug!) tonight, and it's true that crowds of people will line up without knowing what the heck they're queuing up for. If other people are waiting for something there must be something worth waiting for, right? Why do crowds HAVE to be practically on top of each other? ANYWAYS, we learned a dance because we danced and it was awesome, BUT SOME PEOPLE refused to do the dance. It was said that if you were going to be up in the front you HAD to do the dance. But people kept staggering in, shoving their way in to the crowd, standing so close that people who wanted to dance couldn't dance.
Anyways, if you were going to watch Oprah on Thursday, look for me. I got really into it, dancing and screaming and jumping. It was a super interesting experience.
Still no phone. But I believe my charger to be in transit to my location, so progress is go.
