So it is cool that we are analyzing poems, but it really sucks that it has to be out of the class textbook. I am really not big on giving my opinion on something that a person has read over a hundred times and practically knows everything about the poem. Plus the poems in the book are during a time frame I do not care to hear or read about making it even harder to understand what is being said and it's meaning. Although the poems in the book are very good examples as to what poetry looks like . The research papers would be a whole bunch easier if we research the opinions and argue our thoughts with people our age compared to those opinions of either people who really understand these poems in the book or really old people who understand this era. Other than that I enjoy writing and reading poems and figuring out the deeper meanings to the poems, I just rather read the romantic but modern day poems or drama. For example "On the Subway" great poem but depending on the perspective of the reader you can come up with many different meanings. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the purpose of a poem was to express you thoughts in a unique way but unique enough for one to understand your point of view.
