A walk to Remember is a excellent movie to show your classes for the next up coming semester. The movie stars main characters Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) and Landon Carter (Shane West) Although the movie is not quite as confusing and mysterious as the film Stranger Than Fiction but has plenty of valid points and meanings to express to its viewers. A walk to remember deals with a popular teenage boy who found himself in a little trouble (don't they all though) that landed him in a school play with all of the NERDS. And like all popular teens they think all after school activities are dumb. (Stereotype #1) Landon was given one of the lead roles in the play, along with Jamie the girl he and his friends made fun of everyday. They thought she was not cool enough for them. Well lets just say looks can be very deceiving. (Stereotype #2) Jamie was actually a very smart girl, she came from a very religious family, she was very fun too. There was one problem Jamie had a cancer and was not promised to live forever. Although she looked and acted perfectly fine, even taking the criticism from her peers Jamie held her head high and continued her days in her normal routine. To make a long story short Jamie and Landon played the lead roles in the school play, before the big day they became really close and even started dating. A few months after the school play Jamie did pass away but Landon made sure her legacy lived on. Although this movie is very said I believe it gives viewers of the younger generation a explanation as to why stereotyping can effect others and how not all the time are the predictions correct.
