The internet is down. poop.

Dec 09, 2008 22:16

Yeah, as mentioned above I'm posting now (and what is it lately that I've only been posting every day or ....four, instead of three times a day like six months ago?) because the internet is down.  Of course, who knows, if it wasn't down I might not post at all.
Today was good despite the fact that I *really* didn't want to work this morning. Also, I am endevoring to put the spark back into my life.  Not that it's *gone* persay, just a good bit duller than it was when I moved here.  And *why* is that?  Yeah, 1. coworkers who are for the most part a bad influence on me (minus N, about whom I certainly can't say that) 2. no good church here, or no way to get in with the 'good' people at church, though I think that the second might denote the first 3. me just letting things happen.  Which reminds me why I wrote those words so many years ago "swim down stream, jump up onto the carving block..."  I swear, that is my most self-quoted poem, and I never even finished it! guh. and double guh.

Worked out today.  I mean, *really* worked out.  Some 45+ (I know it was under 50 and over 42) minutes of cadio, weights (didn't do lunges or jumps but I'll give myself a break since this is the first time I've run in some two weeks *and* I wore my heavy shoes today), and the full pilates abs workout.

oooh, and I know I'm a season behind but Doctor Who today was fantastic.  What's his name (the scotish guy who plays the Doctor) is a brilliant actor.  I mean, seriously.  Do you know how hard it is to do the stair machine while you're trying not to choke up?

Also, I've recorded the warm up in two of my best classes and will putting it on you tube.  I've decided that one way to see Korea through my just-got-here eyes is to show it to people who have never been here.

Also, read Romans 13 today....a lot to think about.  "That which is not from faith is sin." at least I think that's the quote.  Yeah, the chapter is about eating pig and drinking wine but I think it encompasses a much grander idea than "should Christians eat Christmas ham (ooooh, did you hear about the pork recall in Ireland?) or drink fermeted stuff."

Otherwise, having issues with my co-teacher.  For whatever reason I've chosen to take N's advice and I'll be calling a meeting with two mediators Jt and E on Friday.  This is one of those things that may have made my life in Korea a little duller: my coteacher treating me like I'm 12.  And an irresponsible 12 at that.  I do not like people keeping tabs on me.  Esp when I haven't given them permision to do it.  It's just rude.

What else?   Ah, have bunches of stuff to do. Been doing art again, cleaned up my suite (again), been having insomnia (again).  Need to find a way to send that didgereedo (sp?) to my bro.  And, I have to get the last six addresses for those letters, which really it seems a bit pointless now since they're out of date, but I can update them with a shorter short note and send them...if I get the adresses.  And, then there's Christmas cards, and I have colored paper now and I'm ok handling a box cutter so I think the cards will be rather fantastic.

Need to call S so we can figure out the bus thing.  Need to buy some more carrots and dried bananas.

I also think I've decided what I'm going to do in the library this week.  I'm going to make use of those word lessons they brought in there for show at the beginning of the year, because despite them having apparently just bought them, they're schoolastic, and I think they could be put to good use.  Besides, it would help me continue to set up my pattern of test style word games with the students this session (I'm trying to do a lot more "can you speak it, can you spell it, can you tell me what's missing?" stuff).  Also, I think that some of my level 1 students are starting to get nouns.  Which is fantastic.  I'll go over nouns again next week (and, some of them are humming along to the grammar rock song, which is even *better*), and the week after it's on to verbs.  How exciting!

Yep, I *am* a nerd.
I'm also a bit of a prolific sticker-giver this session.  I'm sure I'll get in trouble for that at some point.

Well, in the cold of the teacher's lounge my fingers have begun to go numb so I'm going to sign off.
Later people!
*hugs*

p.s. thank God, my cold is nearly gone.
