Between the relatively quiet fall, and being gone for Christmas, it's been a while since I've heard any bombings, but I heard the one this morning. (It was about a mile from our house.)
The first one was sometime between 5 and 5:30. I woke up at one point in there and thought about getting up, but then forced myself to go back to sleep in an effort to recover from jet lag. I then woke up again around 5:30 and finally just got up. That's when I usually get up, anyway, so it didn't seem strange. In retrospect, I expect it was the explosion that woke me up and I just didn't realize it.
The second one I definitely heard, although I didn't recognize it. I heard a relatively quiet "boom", and thought "hmm, sounds a bit like a bomb" but it could just as easily be a car backfiring or something (we hear lots of booms that are all sorts of things which aren't bombs.) Then I heard a second one, and thought that was weird, but still shrugged it off. Then I heard a third, and it was Loud. It definitely made me think it was a bomb, but then there was this low rumbling that sounded somewhat like a very very large metal garage door being pushed open, so I decided it must have all had something to do with something going on at the mechanic shop just behind my house.
I guess it wasn't the mechanic. The housemates on the other side of the house said they heard the gunfire as well, but I didn't hear that.
We're on lockdown today, but otherwise there isn't much to say about it. I'm just sitting here being bored at home.
