Thank god for Pandora

If you don't already know about www.pandora.com you should make yourself familiar with it. It's a music library. It is a life-saver if you're super poor like I am and you can't afford cds or mp3s and you stay up late writing papers. I think I'd go crazy without it. Also, I am, admittedly, like the last person to ever hear about good bands, but I have a great band to recommend that you all have probably already heard of: Yeasayer. You can listen to some of their music on their myspace. Check it.

I have had ungodly amounts of coffee tonight but it seems to be doing the trick. Sometimes I get really into paper writing and actually really enjoy it and then I go back and it read what I've written and I never like it. I always feel like I'm writing around the point. When I read it I feel like I'm trying to push through my own words to get to the really meaning. Why can't I just write what I want to say?? It's there in my head and I end up describing it in about a thousand unsatisfactory, unclear, evasive ways. Bah.

I had some kick-ass BBQ for dinner. And it was super cheap as far as restaurant BBQ goes. I ate way too much--I became food drunk. I almost fell asleep on my computer; that's when I started drinking coffee.

A bunch of us went out last night after class and then to eat. Again, I ate way too much but it was very delicious Mexican food. I also got to hear all about how my prof was called an asshole by Alan Ginsburg.

I had my end of the year review yesterday. Everyone said they were happy with my work and my progress. My main adviser told me to speak more in her class. I really try to talk but while I'm trying to figure out what to say someone else makes to point I was trying to get at in my head. This same prof said that the idea for my Christianity paper has real potential, possibly even dissertation material in there somewhere. We'll see. So, the pressure is on to write a good paper for that class.

I'm STILL trying to finish my Neoplatonism paper. It's coming along but it's not very balanced. It's like 90% Origen and 10% Plotinus. Oh well. It's too late to care too much.

Ok, back to Plotinus. Joy.
