Well, new surprises!
An XP machine has only 1 user account with administrative rights.
When I try to re-name it Administrator, it tells me that an account with this name already exists and I cannot use this name for another account.
In order to do system restore, I need administrator account.
Catch 22?
Is it possible to hide an administrator account?
In addition, I didn't flash BIOS, b/c the instructions for the procedure had a filename, different from one that was posted on Dell's site. This is not something I want to take chances with. Hopefully, school will be able to locate invoices, so that I can actually ask Dell directly which BIOS update I need.
