At last I've been chucked out

Dec 22, 2009 13:02

I should really have posted this last night but nevermind.

I had a yearly check up at the hospital yesterday and they chucked me out. After just over 9 years of going back and forth to the rheumatology department I've finally been discharged. Of course if I have any problems in the future they'll always be there to treat me but for now (and hopefully forever) that's it. No more hospital appointments and still no medication. I'm free.

It feels kinda weird because hospitals have been part of my life for so long now, but at the same time it's the best Christmas/late Chanukah present I could have asked for. It's also a pretty good way to end the decade. I started 2000 with my mum having just had major surgery, going in an out of hospital all the time and no-one really knowing how long she'd live for. Now at the end of 2009 I'm being told to go away. Maybe this time I can stay away.

In other news, while the roads and pavements are like ice rinks I've put the running on hold. Up to about a mile comfortably at the moment but don't fancy breaking any limbs. I may try and get to the gym though one day and do some work there instead.

If I don't post again before - I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that 2010 brings good health, happiness and great success to you all.
