Funding

So if I'm going to take this TESL thing seriously (and that would be a first in my life, really), I need to seriously consider funding it.

Simply half-assedly trying to save money each month isn't going to happen, and if it does then it simply won't be enough. I'm still going to try, but given my nature, I need to take account of 'me' if I want to actually succeed at this. :P

So, realistically, I'm going to put aside maybe $50 a month from now on, as the rest will likely be piddled away on 'life' and 'doing stuff' and the largest part of my budget called 'unknown expenses' and 'where the hell did it all go?'.

Rather than attempting to slice my income into finer pieces, I'm going to take the other tack: make more money.

Work full-time.

/cry

So I mailed the schedule people in work (so I can't simply sit around hypothesizing for the next 3 months), asking to work a 5-day week throughout December (with a caveat that I don't yet have the dates of my finals). This should increase my income from a piddly $800 per month to roughly $2300 (+/- $200) just for December, excluding any pay-rise I expect to get for my annual review.

If I can dump all that on my CC, and then immediately pay for the TESL course (so I can't fritter away the cash between January and May) then I'll have a concrete, useful, internationally recognised qualification to my name.

I like plans. Plans is good.

Time to test the follow-through. :)

work, plans, sheer awesomeness, hopes, languages
