Well, there's two things I keep coming back to, the two things I've wanted to be since I was about ten years old - a writer and a teacher. Over the years, the "teacher" thing has evolved and refined itself until I specifically I want to an English Lit professor. The problem with that is the AA in Lit I have right now is a far cry (time and finance-wise) from the PhD I need. And as for the writer thing... well, I'm just not all that good at it. Not good enough to ever make money at it, at any rate.
Then there's the logical part of me that tells me to go ahead and get a degree in web design and programming, since that's what I do with most of my spare time anyway. And another part that tells me to get a degree in multimedia so I can actually get paid to edit video (and learn how to do the really *really* cool stuff).
I really just need to pick something and do it. School starts in just a few weeks, and I really don't have time to mess around with this any more. I want to have a career, a real one, and provide an actual, honest-to-God, don't-have-to-worry-about-losing-everything-tomorrow life for my kids.
I don't regret for one minute quitting school to raise Nerdboy and marry his dad... but there are time I really wish I hadn't.
