That look on Senior's face when he came out of the bedroom, the way he smiled when he saw how devastated Tony was ... I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it just oozed slime. He looked Tony right in the eye, and smiled, and may as well have said, "Hey, you were dumb enough to trust me. You got what you had coming."
So he gives him a ring he should have given him 21 years ago, and that makes everything magically better? We're just going to ignore that he's been abusing and neglecting Tony for 34 years (give or take), and that he's still doing it, and we're going to forgive him? And now we've got this canon proof - and if you watch MW's expressions, there is really no way to dispute it - that Tony's an abuse survivor, and where is it going to go from here? Because apparently Gibbs is now all buddy-buddy with his ol' pal AD, so he doesn't give a shit anymore either?
WTF?
I'm really, really hoping (and this is how I'm fanwanking it) that Gibbs and Abby didn't know what Senior had done or said to Tony, because he's so convinced it's his fault anyway that he just didn't tell them. I really absolutely cannot believe that Gibbs - Gibbs - would let Senior openly and intentionally hurt Tony that badly. I just can't.
But it's Christmas! And surely if Tony says it's all his fault, then that must be so. Senior, who has a proven track record of abuse as you say, could not possibly have done anything to merit Tony kicking him out. Tony was just being a Scrooge - Tony, who created a damned tradition with the family that was always there for him...
No, it was no big deal that the man invaded his home without invite, messed with a space Tony clearly needs control in (seriously, Tony's need to keep things just so is a huge insight into his head, like every other facet of his life is out of his hands, but that space is his and it's taken on too big a meaning for him), and slept with a woman in Tony's tiny bed - a woman Tony didn't want anything to do with and who had her own home STEPS away.
I don't doubt somewhere in there Senior's love is present and it's genuine. But the magic of Christmas cannot fix the years of bullshit and abandonment Tony dealt with.
