The fic I wrote for last year's summergen randomly changed tenses in the last 300 words, and I didn't even notice it until this spring, when I went to answer a comment. *facepalm* Have you emailed the mods about it? They might let you change it.

It's a date that I changed (after the beta was done, so it was entirely my fault), that I mentioned in passing twice, once at the beginning and again about halfway through. I don't know if anyone but me would even notice it.

I haven't asked if I can resubmit, though, because I got a three day extension to get the beta finished anyway, and I'd feel kinda crappy about asking for something special on top of that.

I might, though. I don't know.

I found a dreaded to/too mix up and a few other fingers-going-too-fast type mistakes. The mods should allow you to resubmit a corrected copy as long as you make it clear. I think, but I'm not sure if the rules change after deadline or not.

And, congrats! :)

My biggest "fingers too fast" issue is duplicating the the words I'm typing for no no real reason. (See what I did there?) :)

Right now, I'm thinking I'm just going to let it go. There were some rendering/editing issues with my vid last year, and I just fixed it before I posted the "final" version after the posting period was over. I'm thinking that's what I'll probably do with this one, too.

I posted a story last week and one of the authors I fangirl hard commented on it, telling me how lovely it was. And then I re-read it and found about six typos.

Oh, man, I would freak if that ever happened to me! There's only one fanwriter that I seriously, seriously fangirl, and she's a pro-writer, too. It's bad enough knowing that I've put my crap out there and she's probably seen it. If she'd ever commented on it, and then I found mistakes?

I'd absolutely freak.

I was absolutely mortified. With capital letters mortified. And I did thank her for being so kind despite my typos...

The other thing that upset me is that I am a really strict editor - I'm harder on myself than most people who beta for me - and I actually did *two* edits...and never caught the typos.

About the only thing I can say in my defense is that I had written most of the final section on no sleep and then posted it after three hours of sleep. And once you got rid of the typos, it actually didn't suck.

Oh god yes! I so know what you are talking about and it sucks balls. I actually did it in a recent story with dialogue and oops. I tried to fix it as much as I could but at that point the damage was done.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I am so happy to be finding out it's not just me. :D

I've gone through and done a bit of editing and touching up here and there, for when I post it to my fic journal after the anonymous posting period is up, and I think that's all I'm going to do. It's a little thing, and like I said above, I don't know if anyone but me is even going to notice it. I'm just gonna feel really, really stupid knowing it's there.

Oh yeah no I think it will be fine. Most people who read fic are not super intense writers.
